This past week we went on our first ever family vacation! Our great friends The Penders rented a beautiful beach house in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and invited us to come and celebrate Tina's 40th birthday! We have been blesses beyond belief by this amazing family! They have loved us and our children, helped us in times I don't know who else I could have called on, and have been an amazing example of Godly parents for us to witness and learn from. God really knows what he's doing!

So, we packed what looked like our entire house and headed south! We decided that traveling over night would be the best way get there with some sanity...and it was actually a breeze! The boys slept on and off and were great sports the whole time! Everyone slept and napped and adjusted to long days on the beach perfectly! We all came home with a nice tan and a little bit of rejuvenation! We cant wait to go back again!

We Are Still Alive!!

Yes, contrary to what you might have thought, we are still alive and well! I cant believe I have not blogged since before Christmas!!

A quick synopsis of what we've been up to...The twins are HUGE!! At 9 months Brett is 20lbs and Bryce is 18lbs! That might not be so big compared to some other kids their age but to put it into perspective, for us, Cole was 18 lbs at 1 year!!! So 20 lbs at 9 months seems gigantic! They are both crawling, pulling up on EVERYTHING, and have figured out the dredded stairs!! There is a baby gate in our near future for sure! Unfortunately, they have been quite sick for about 6 weeks now. Nothing tooo serious, or at least the doctors don't seems to think so. They have a constant fevor that goes up and down throughout the week, runny noses, coughs, and all kinds of wheezing and congestion. :( We have been back and forth to the doctor over the past month and a half and we are just praying that he Lord will heal their little bodies. We have had MANY sleepless nights and we are all anxious for them to feel better. Poor buddies.

Cole has been a TERRIFIC big brother! He loves to help mommy and daddy...play with the babies, get them toys, share his toys, and comfort them when they arent feeling so well. He has such a sweet little servants heart and I am so honored to be called his mommy. He really is the sweetest. He is doing great at "school" and has found his first "love". Her name is Madison and he talks about her ALL day long! Her mom invited us over for dinner next week and I am sure we will have lots of play dates over the summer! Cole tells everyone that he "yikes Madson", and he sings "happy day day to Madson" every day. I guess he wants to celebrate her every day, such a gentleman! His daddy is teaching him well!

We are still loving living in Murfreesboro and feel incredibly blessed to have our home. We have been getting lots of new neighbors, and have met lots of great people at church! I truly believe that the Lord has a geographic place for all of us, and right now, I feel like we are in His will in that aspect of our life.

The weather has been really nice for the most part..a few days each week in the 70's! This weekend we are supposed to reach 75! We all cant wait to get outside and play! Frank is planning on sodding the front yard in the next few weeks, and we have lots of big plans for the backyard...but those will just happen a little bit at a time.

Halloween and Hoedown

Things have been busy, busy, busy at the Capurso house! We enjoyed visits from my mom, mother-in-law, and are now awaiting a visit from my dad and step-mom! We love that our family cant stay away! It is such a blessing!!!

Cole really enjoyed halloween this year! He was so excited to dress up in his fireman costume or "daddy man" outfit as he says! He wore it all day and didnt want to take it off! We had trick or treating in our neighborhood on Saturday night which I thought was a great idea since the kids in the neighborhood all had school the day after halloween! Plus, it gave us a chance to go to the Hoedown at church! Every year the church we attend has a HUGE fall fesitval on Halloween called Hoedown! Its a great alternative to halloween and the kids have a blast!!! The best part about it is that is completely free!! We are so blessed to be a part of a church that is so blessed and can make events like Hoedown possible! Frank got to serve on Saturday and help set up for the days events, lifting hundreds of hay bails and setting them up for the games and activities.

We were so happy that Mimaw could be here and enjoy the weekend with us! Cole LOVES his Mimaw and was VERY sad to see her go.

4 years of Marital Bliss! HeHe!

Yesterday Frank and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary! I cant believe its been 4 years since we said I do! It seems like yesterday we were packing up our lives and moving to Tennessee...4 years and 3 children later we are still so in love and learning more about eachother each day! We celebrated our special day at Arrington Vinyards with a picnic dinner and a great bottle of wine! We sat on the deck and listened to the band, talked, ate, drank and enjoyed eachother's company! Our great friends Beth and Matthew stayed home with the boys! Beth is a Nurse in the NICU at Vandebilt and Matthew is a fireman so we knew the boys were in good hands! We were so grateful that they held down the fort while we got some much needed time away! Not only was it a special day for us, but Matthew proposed to Beth just a day earlier and she said YES! So, we celebrated with them before we left by opening a vintage bottle of Dom Perignon that we got as a wedding gift!

Hello blogger world! Its been forever since I blogged last, but between changing a million diapers, feedings, and holding down the fort I hardly have time to shower! So, blogging has'nt exactly fit into my weekly routine and I cant promise a new post on any regular basis...but I am re-commiting to blogging every once in a while when I can!

Alot has happened since the twins have made their big debut! Cole turned 2 and we had great fun throwing him a birthday party at the park in Smyrna! All of his amazing grandparents came down to celebrate with him and he got lots of lovin on his special day!!! Here is a photo from the day!

Cole also started school! Two days a week he goes to Mother's Day Out at church and he LOVES it!! He is in a sweet little class with 6 kiddos, 3 boys and 3 girls, and 2 wonderful and patient teachers! He is learning his letters, numbers, fine motor skills, and scripture! He loves it so much he even asks to go to "church school" on his days off! Here is a picture of Cole on his first day!!!

The babies are growing like weeds!! Brett is 15lbs. 10oz. and Bryce is 14lbs 10 oz! They are both so strong and expressive! They love to be close to one another and wrestle with their arms and legs! Cole loves to get in on the fun too! He just adores his baby brothers and loves to help us in any way he can! Here is Bryce at 4 months! Now that I am taking a second look at the pictures I chose to post, they kind of look like mug shots! They do smile alot!!! But the flash from the camera is usually not their favorite!

We are still getting used to being parents to 3 little ones and trying to function on little to no sleep...but we are having a blast and enjoying every second with these sweet little boys! God has blessed us beyond belief and we are so thankful! Frank and I are coming up on our 4th wedding anniversary next week!! I would have never guessed 4 years ago we would be a family of 5, living in Nashville, and sharing life with the most amazing friends in the world! If we could only get our family down here!!!! wink, wink!

Our life as a family of 5...

Life as a family of 5 has been quite different...I have almost forgot Cole in his crib before leaving the house once, I havent once cooked a meal, cleaned my house, took a shower more than a few minutes, gone to the grocery store, or sleep more then an hour or so straight. Ahhh the joys of parenthood! But, enough complaining...the babies are so adorable, Cole is beginning to get the hang of being a big brother, our family hasnt left us yet, and life as a family of 5 although different is great!

The twins are growing like weeds! We saw Dr. Collins last week and they are now just under 11 lbs each!! I couldnt even believe my eyes when I saw them tip the scale at that weight, gaining 3 lbs in under 3 weeks!! Poor little Cole is going to be the shrimp of the family.

We have enjoyed tons of great meals made by our amazing friends and enjoyed time with them even more! Here are some pictures from the past few weeks!

The twins have arrived!!!!

On June 4th Brett Jacob and Bryce Garrett entered the world weighing in at 7lbs 2oz and 7lbs 4oz! A whole pound bigger than their big brother Cole! We could not believe the size of them or figure out how they fit in there! Our 2 precious boys could not look or act any different and we are so in love with them! Labor and delivery went very smoothly and a C-Section was thankfully not necessary! The Lord was extremely comforting to Frank and I throughout the whole day...I was blessed to be able to pray with my best friend Kristin right before they were born giving me an extra boost of confidence right before their arrival. Our first days home were a little tough for Cole. He wasnt so sure about the new babies and he was very jealous that I was giving them most of my attention. Slowly but surely he has learned that he is still my number 1 and mommy loves him just as much. He loves to hug and kiss them and can not go to bed without giving several kisses to his brothers. He still has some bad days where he wants a bit more attention but I know in time the 3 will be best buds!

The babies are now 6 weeks old and growing before our eyes. Frank and I wake up every morning in amazement with how much they change each night. They surpassed their birth weight in less than 2 weeks and I have no doubt that they will double it very soon! They are already grown out of newborn clothes and diapers and fitting pretty snug into 3 month sizes. Brett is a spitting image of his daddy's baby pictures and I just love it! Bryce is a man of his own! We cant really tell who he looks like just yet but his chubby cheeks and big eyes are to die for!

We have been trying to get some decorating done at the house before the babies arrive and our life get's put on hold for a while! So here is a sneak peak at what we've done so far....

In this first picture you can see the wall of family photos that we have created in the living room. We were inspired by our friend Evin who is an amazing photographer. She had a similar collage going up her staircase....and yes...this is what my belly looks like at 38 weeks with the twins!

Cozy Babies

Well, no one thought we'd make it this far...but I am 38 weeks pregnant and the twins STILL aren't here! The little boogers are a little too cozy in there! We have seen Dr. Thomas every week for a few months and everything seems to look good...strong heartbeats, good weight gain for both babies, and they are moving around and practicing their breathing just as they should be. So...now all we can do is wait. If they arent here by Wednesday this week, we will go in to be induced Thursday morning! We are SO excited to meet the boys! I dont think I have ever been this uncomfotable in all my life...but I am very grateful that we didnt have to deal them being borm premature! God is so good and we are so thankful!

Cole has been enjoying spending lots of quality time with his Grandma Capurso. He has really gotten to know her and has had great fun exploring the new neighborhood, playing in the dirt, eating LOTS of new foods, and snuggling with her. I don't know how I would have made it the past few weeks without her here...waking up early with Cole, taking care of him and me, and the house. Her being here has truly been a blessing to us. Well, we've been in the new house for about 2 weeks...we survived the flood without any damage...and we are slowly unpacking and making this house our home! We feel so blessed to be here and are so thankful. Once we get things set up and unpacked i'll post new pics!

As for the status on the twins...I'm now 36 weeks!! I cant believe I made it this far! Thankfully, with all the help I have had from my family and friends, these little boys have made it this far! Dr. T thinks I can go another week or 2 even! Thank you all for your amazing support, time spent helping me, and prayers! I don't think we would be here without ya'll! I will have another ultrasound on Wednesday if they dont make their apearance by then. We will find out about how big they are and if I am dialated at all. Check on us next week for an update!

There has been alot of progress on the house this week! The weather has been cooperating very well and they have been able to work every day! Only 3 more weeks until moving day! We are so excited and so thankful for this blessing! Here are some picture of the progress!

18 Months!

Yesterday Cole had his 18 month check up with Dr. Collins. He was very interested in all instruments and gadgets in the room, was checking himself out in the mirror, and really hammed it up for the doctor! Cole now weighs 23 lbs and is in the 30th percentile! At his 1 year check up he was in the 15th so he has grown alot! Unfortunately he had to get 3 shots which did not make him a happy camper, but he took them really well and only cried for a second! Here are some pictures of Cole goofing off in the room!

Then we went over to Aunt KK's to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL weather we had yesterday! It was in the 80's and sunny as can be. Cole and Caden enjoyed playing in the yard together while Aunt KK and I lounged on her comfy outdoor furniture. It's crazy how you can talk to someone every day on the phone, yet still have things that you havent talked about when you see eachother! Here are the boys playing in the yard!

Baby Shower

My sweet friend Kristin threw a beautiful baby shower for me and the twins last night. The food was delicious and the company was just perfect. She planned it just right so that my mom and sister got to be here to celebrate the boys as well! My girlfriends spoiled the babies with gifts and it was so nice to see how loved they already are! I havent posted pictures anywhere of this pregnancy, A.) because I havent done anything picture worthy in a while...and B.) I have not been feeling very picture worthy lately either... But, I knew I would want to have a few pics of my belly when the twins get older so here they are! It looks like I have a basketball under my shirt but it's really my belly! I don't know how much more room these little guys are going to get in there!

Taking it easy and new house...

A few weeks ago the doctor told us that I needed to start taking it easy, getting some help during the day, and really trying to get lots of rest. Most of you know that "taking it easy" is not really in my blood, so it's been rough. But, after a fainting episode a few weeks ago while I was out at a consignment sale, the Lord said it's enough! So, since then I have really been trying to take it easy. My brother came down for the week and helped out with Cole which was really nice. We even went a whole week without "fighting" which is a record for us! Cole had a great time with his uncle and got away with a whole lot more than usual. Last week my amazing friends took turns coming over while Frank is at work to help me around the house and entertain Cole. I am so grateful for such and amazing group of women who love to serve the Lord by serving others. They are all so generous to give up time with their family to be with me and I am so thankful! We are hoping and praying that the twins will make it until at least 36 weeks before they make their apearance.

To add to the excitement, we are building a new house! We found a great subdivision in Murfreesboro, kinda out in the country, where a few of the guys from the fire department have built homes too! The house will be done by April 30th, just in time to get everything unpacked and ready for the babies! Cole LOVES to go see the house and check on progress. He runs around and falls into the sheet rock, gets covered in dust and wood chips, and explores his new digs! Our yard backs up to a few acres of state owned property where no one can ever build, so we have a beautiful park like view out our back yard. I cant wait to sit on my back porch with my babies and watch cole run wild in the yard! I am so thankful for this blessing and for my hard working husband who has worked his tail off to build us this house. We hope that our front door is always opening and our friends and family will enjoy spending time there with us!

Nothing like Family

My mom was on February break last week, so she and Steve came down to visit with us. Cole was SO excited and just milked every moment with them. Since I haven't been feeling too great lately, mom took over most if not all of my daily duties which was such a nice break! There's nothing like your mom taking care of you even when your 26! We did lots of shopping and bought a new crib for the twins and spent some time at the new house picking all of our interior flooring, caninets, etc. It was nice to have a second opinion since Frank and I have different taste when it comes to that stuff. The weather was unseasonably cold for Tennessee the whole time they were here, and of course they day they left it was 68 and sunny! Hopefully when they come back for Easter it will be nice and warm! Cole woke up Sunday morning and scanned the apartment for grandma and grandpa, when he realized they werent here he started crying. It was the saddest thing i've ever seen. Being away from your family is not easy or desirable by any means, but selfishly I wish they would all move down here. Maybe one day my wish will come true!

While Mom and Steve were here their was a fire at mom's school. The fire took the entire school leaving nothing but a few classrooms even recognizable. It was so sad for mom as she's spent more than 20 years in her classroom collecting books, pictures, furniture, and memories. The kids will be moving to a new location on Tuesday and the teachers will have to make due with the limited materials they have. Thanksfully school was closed during the time of the fire and no one was hurt. Please pray for my mom, the staff, and the students at South Bay Elementary School.

Kristin's 30th Birthday in Gatlinburg!

This past weekend Rob planned an amazing girls weekend for Kristin's 30th birthday! He put us all up in a BEAUTIFUL cabin for the weekend to spend time relaxing and celebrating Kristin. We were all so blessed to have the support of our husbands who stayed home with the kids while we were away. We left Friday morning and arrived in Gatlinburg just before the biggest snow storm since 2003 hit Tennessee. We thought we "might" get stuck in the cabin so just in case we stopped off at Walmart and stocked the fridge with groceries for the weekend. Thank God we did!!! We not only were stuck at the cabin all weekend, but we even had to stay an extra night because the road conditions were so bad and we couldnt get off the mountain Sunday morning. We all missed our families so much, but with a clear message from the Lord, we stayed another night and made it home safely Monday afternoon. We did however make it out the first day there to take an old time photo! The streets were perfect for sledding, and Evin caught TONS of great shots! Here are some of her photos below!!! We had such a great time learning new things about eachother, laughing, crying a little of course, and just having fun!

Since most all of my girlfriends are stay at home mommies we are blessed to have the time to get together all the time! The kids get lots of play time and us girls get alot of girl time to chat, pray for eachother, and make the days go by super fast with all the fun we have! This weekend my dad and Robin came for a visit! We spent the weekend relaxing and spending time with them. Frank and I got to spend some time out together while Dad and Robin got some alone time with Cole. It was so nice to be able to have time for the two of us and be reminded of how much we are in love with one another... Sometimes the days just mesh together when you are chasing a toddler around. I am so blessed to be married to such a loving, passionate, caring, and spiritual man of God! They spoiled us rotten of course...stocking the fridge with groceries, taking us out to eat, and treating our friends as well! We are so thankful for their generosity and love. Well folks, we are officially the parents of 3 boys!! Today we had our 20 week ultrasound and confirmed that the twins are in fact bouncing baby boys! Watching them twist and turn, snuggle with eachother, kick their little feet together, and reach their hands out to touch eachother was the sweetest thing we'd ever seen! Both babies were strong and healthy and we coudnt be happier!! We are so thankful that God chose us to be these precious little boy's parents and can't wait to meet them! Christmas in New York and Connecticut

We are so thankful that my parents made it possible for us to be in New York for Christmas this year! Cole was great on the plane as usual! He is such a good little boy! I have a pretty strong feeling the twins won't be as easy...can we get that lucky 3 times? We all got spoiled by our family with love and gifts and really enjoyed spending time with everyone! Cole had so much fun with all the toys at grandma and grandpa's house and LOVED chasing around lexi and libby, their dogs. I'm not sure the dogs enjoyed him as much as he enjoyed them!

Christmas morning Frank and I woke up at 4am...well, I woke up and then proceeded to wake Frank up. We talked all morning until our stomachs got us up and we made Christmas morning breakfast for the family. When Cole woke up grandma brought him in the see the tree and all the presents santa had left for him! He was SOOO excited! Everyone came in and sat around the tree and we let Cole run towards the gifts. We thought he would immediately start ripping paper, but instead he picked the gifts up one by one and began to hand them out to all his aunts and uncles...he is such a little giver! It was a very proud moment for a mommy :)

Cole's favorite gift was the 4-wheeler he got from aunt Lu Lu and Uncle Patrick! He jumped right on it and took off around the house! He is a true southern boy! Pretty soon he and his buddies will be taking off in the woods on their real 4-wheelers!

Grandma Capurso, Auntie Autumn, and Uncle Chris came to my parents house for Christmas day too! We were so happy that they made the trip and spent this special holiday with us! Grandma even slept over and drove home to CT with us the next day! Cole was so happy to have so much time with her! He loves his grandparents!

Our first stop in Connecticut was to great grandma Capurso's nursing home. Gram's memory hasnt been too sharp lately and we were a little concerned she would know quite who we were at first..but she took one look at Cole and shouted "ohhh Cole"! It ws music to our ears! We had a great time chatting with her and Cole amused all the ladies. He played "banged" on the piano, climbed under the tables, and even pushed gram around a little in her wheel chair.

After visiting with her we went to Frank's Aunt Marie's house so Cole could see all his cousins! He has a great time with all the "big" kids! They were all so sweet to Cole and took good care of him while Frank and I visited with his family.

We also got to have lunch with Bubs and Zaidy and they brought a great suprise with them, my Uncle Jon. We enjoyed catching up and eating a nice lunch. Although our visit with them was short, we will see them in just 2 weeks when they come down to Nashville for a visit!

Our last day at grandma and grandpa's house was a sad day for us all. It's always so bitter sweet when we leave. We love our family so much but the Lord has made a home for us in Tennessee. We hope that in the future he will bring our family their too! Cole cried his eyes out at the aiport as I had to peel him off of grandma. He held onto her so tight and made us all cry. We will also see grandma and grandpa again real soon when they come for a long visit in February!

As most of you know, Frank loves to cook. He loves trying to replicate all the delicious dishes his mom makes...Cole and I don't mind his experimenting! So naturally, he was so excited to bake Christmas cookies with Cole with year! We headed to Aunt Lourie's house this week and gathered all our ingedients together to make sugar cookies with fun icing and Frank's mom's delicious jelly cookies! They all came out amazing and Cole has SO much fun! Here are some pictures of Cole as he learns how to bake cookies!

We are headed back to New York next week to celebrate the birth of our savior. We are so grateful to be able to get back home for the holidays and to be able to spend it with both of our families! With Frank's graduation behind us we were excited to finally have him home! It was also nice to have some help packing for our move.

Last week we packed up the last of our things and moved out of our house in Thompsons Station into an apartment in Smyrna. We close on our house this Friday (God willing). It's definately going to be an adjustment going from a house to an apartment half the size, but we are grateful to have a roof over our heads, our health, and all of our family together!

No pictures this time but we will be setting up our new computer very soon and will be able to post lots of new pictures for everyone to see!

Well, we have had alot going on the past few weeks...Most of you already know but for those who don't, we are pregnant again! Not only has God blessed us with one baby but 2! Yes, we are having TWINS! We are excited, overjoyed, overwhelmed, and nervous all at the same time. But, we have faith in knowing that the Lord obviously trusts us with 2 more of his children, and he will be our strength, or provider, and our rock through this! We feel so blessed and lucky that he has given us this amazing blessing and we cant wait for their arrival! I am just abou 11 weeks right now and in just 9 more weeks we will be able to find out the sex!

We also sold our house....finally!!! We signed a lease at a great apartment just down the road from Frank's station and will be moving in on December 1st. It's very bittersweet and I have been struggling with the reality of it all. I will really miss the memories we have made in this house, our neighbors, and living so close to all our friends...But I have found peace in knowing that the Lord will provide the comfort I need, and he has put some amazing people in my life who I know will come to our new place just like they do now. Hopefully before the babies arrive we will have found a new house to make new memories in!

Frank has been away for the past 10 weeks studying and training at the Tennessee State Fire Academy. It has been a long 10 weeks and Cole and I miss him teribly! I can not express how incredibly proud I am of him and all he has accomplished. He is a very close #2 in his class scoring only decimals of a point below the #1. He has studied so hard, trained physically for so long and has been a leader to many of the younger and less experienced guys at the academy. It is such an amazing feeling to be married to a man who loves his family so much that he would do anything to provide for us and give me the ability to stay home with our children. We have definately had to learn to make sacrifices along this journey and re-evaluate our "needs", but through it all, the Lord has taught us some amazing lessons and our relationship with his has matured in ways we are so thankful for.

I can't believe Thanksgiving is already here and Christmas is just around the corner! We will be traveling to New York to be with our family and are so thankful to be able to make that trip! Cole is going to make up Christmas morning with his grandparents, aunts, uncle, and present under the tree! You cant get more blessed than that!

We have been spending alot of time with our friends having playdates lately epecially with Cole's best buddy Caden and baby Lexi. Being home with Cole has been the biggest blessing in the world. Although I loved my job and was really angry and upset that things didnt work out this year with my transfer, I know the Lord had a hand in this and he has truly opened my eyes to the wonderful blessing of motherhood. It has been nothing short of breathtaking to watch Cole grow and learn new things every day! He is such a sweet boy and we are loving every minute of my time at home with him!

A little update on his progress so far... He has finally cut his first teeth! And believe it or not, it's the top front! He hasnt been too fussy or irritable lately so i'm not sure exactly when they came through but we are happy he finally has teeth! He is also walking like crazy! He still waddles a little bit when he has sneakers on but he is getting the hang of it!

As for Frank and I...well, we are STILL trying to sell our house and move closer to Smyrna for Frank's job. The house has been on the market for 9 months, and we've been under contract once already but it fell though. So, we are just continuing to pray that the Lord will help us through this time. We know that he has a plan for us, and when the time is right our house will sell...but being patient, cleaning multiple times a week for showing, and getting our hopes up all the time just to be let down has been very tiring. It is definatly calming to know though that we serve an awesome God who loves and cares about us and will continue to provide for us until the time is right.

Where has the time gone...

Well, since I havent blogged in about 4 months I figured, what the heck, no better time to pick the blogging back up again than now! To catch you up on life with the Capurso's I'll give you a little play by play...

I am now officially a stay-at-home mom and praise the Lord every day for giving me the opportunity to be!

I have started a little bussiness doing private college counseling and am really enjoying it!
We have enjoyed many visits from the grandparents and even a visit from Aunt LuLu, Aunt Nikki, Aunty Autumn, Aunty Wendy, Uncle Craig, and Uncle Christopher and Uncle Brendan (aka Aunt Brenda)

Visit to the Firehouse!

This week Cole and I took a trip to the Firehouse to visit Frank during one of his shifts. Cole smiles from ear to ear when he see's his daddy! He had such a great time playing on the fire truck and in Daddy's boots!

We are still trying to sell the house and have had a ton of showings...just no good offers. Having to keep the house "show ready" has been kind of stressful but in 3 weeks school will be out and I'll have more time to take care of things around here. Thanks for checking in on us!

Spring Update

This month we enjoyed Easter in Tennessee with Nanna and Grandpa, Aunt LuLu and Patrick. My mom came down for the whole week and the rest of the family joined us for the weekend! We had such a great time enjoying eachothers company, doing some sightseeing and playing with Cole. The Ferrells also joined us for Easter and we were so glad to share that day with them. We are so thankful that our family was able to be with us to celebrate the death and resurection of Jesus, who gave his life for us, to forgive us of our sins and give us eternal life.

Dad turns 60!

This week dad and Robin were in town for dad's 60th birthday! Of course we had a full week of festivities...planned by Robin. She had been scheming this week for months! On Saturday, dad and robin went to dinner at the Tompson's Station Grill while Cole and I decorated the house for the party. Since a suprise party can never be easy, the weather was not cooperating. We had tornado warnings, high winds, thunder, lightening, hail, and some crazy rain for a few hours. Most of our friends were taking shelter in there homes so they were a little late. Lukily, Robin stalled by taking dad to the grocery store after dinner! A suprise it was...topped off with a Marilyn Monroe impersonator singing happy birthday to dad just like she did to JFK. It was HYSTERICAL! Dad was so suprised! Here are some pics from the night!Dad's real birthday was Thursday, April 2nd. So, on Thursday I took the day off from work to spend the day with dad. We started his birthday off having breakfast at Cracker Barrel and then headed to the mall to get pictures of Cole with the Easter Bunny!!! He LOVED the Easter Bunny and even tried pulling his wiskers and petting his fur! We did a little shopping and then headed home to get ready for Robin's next birthday suprise! Of course, there was another storm which almost prevented us from getting to the restuarant. This time the tornado actually touched down in Nashville just a few miles away from us. Thankfully we took afew detours and got to the Opryland hotel safely and just a little late. Robin had planned an awesome suprise birthday dinner for dad at the Old Hickory Steakhouse which is inside Opryland. The hotel is so beautiful and of course the restaurant was too! We walked in with a warm welcome from the servers and dad saw our table all decorated with 60th birthday decorations. Dinner was fabulous and dad was very happy! Here are some shots from dinner!
We had such a nice week filled with lots of birthday celebration! Now dad is off to Florida to work and Robin will meet him there this week! Today we cleaned the house all day to get ready for Mom, Steve, Lauren and Patrick's upcoming visit! We are so lucky to have such an amazing family!

Today was such a beautiful day in middle Tennessee. The sun was shining and the temperature was in the high 70's most of the day. When I got home from work, we took Beau and Cole to the new dog park in Spring Hill. Beau was very well behaved and Cole enjoyed the sun just like his mommy! We met Whitney and Nora there for some play time too! We will definately be going back to the park more often now that Spring is here!!

So, we went from not having any time out together to having 2 nights out in one week! Last night our friend Bethany had a suprise party for her husband's 30th birthday! Cole got to stay at his favorite place in the world...Ken and Lourie's! There is always a lot of action at the Ferrell house and they just love to love on Cole! We are so blessed with such amazing friends! Thanks to Ken and Lourie we enjoyed another great night out together at Buffalo Billiards playing Pool and darts.

This morning Cole and I met Aunt KK and Cade at their house and headed down to the Otter Creek consignment sale! We went last year and found TONS of cute stuff for the boys so we just HAD to go again! My goal of the day was to find a walker for Cole. Low and behold, as soon as we walked in there was a Jeep brand walker sitting right in front of us!! Not only was it in great shape, but it was only $5.00! Not thats a real deal compared to the full price of $90.00! We also picked up tons of great toys for the boys! Daddy was real happy with our bargain shopping! Here are some pictures from our day!

Rock Climbing

This week our friends Matt and Bethany asked us to go rock climbing with them at Climb Nashville! I hadnt been rock climbing in over 10 years so I was littttttle nervous. Frank and I have really been needing a night out and we are so grateful that we have such amazing friends who we trust comletely to keep Cole so that we can enjoy a night out, just the two of us. Okay, so I know that everyone who checks our blog is probably angry with me for not updating in FOREVER! Honestly, I don't have time to even make the bed, nevermind update the blog! But, I am really going to try and be better at this since Cole is so much fun these days!

To recap the past few weeks, we were so excited to finally get Frank's mom, brother Craig and Craig's girlfriend Wendy down to visit with us and Cole! Cole was unfortunately very sick while they were here and even ended up in the hospital with a fevor of 104.8! The end result was just a virus, thank the Lord. People always tell you that you don't know what real worry is until your child is sick...and that is the honest truth! I have never been more scared or worried in my life. It was so hard not being able to help him or comfort him. Thankfully his feveor broke after a few days and he was back to his old self again! We were so thankful that Grandma Capurso was here to help us and comfort us during all of this.

Then my dad and Robin came down for a visit the weekend of Valentines Day! We had such a nice time with them as usual. We hung out around the house most of the weekend because I was a little under the weather, and on Valentines Day they treated us AND our best friends Kristin and Rob to an amazing dinner at Stoney River Grill. Caden and Cole were perfect little angels and let us have a nice adult evening. Another highlight of the weekend was the opening of the Kroger Marketplace in town! Yes, this is the highlight of our life these days! No, but seriously, this place is amazing!!! It not only a grocery store, but it houses a starbucks, florist, jewelry store, walk-in clinic, and an entire homegoods section! It like the best thing since sliced bread in Thompson's Station!!! Oh...and I also helped Robin join facebook which was fun since she is now addicted!

The day Dad and Robin left, my Mom and Steve arrived! Yes, we had our parents in town for 3 weeks in a row. Not many people can call this a blessing, and we are so happy to say that it was! We love all of our parents s dearly and cherish ever chance we get to see them. We are so grateful for their love and support and tell Cole every day how much he is loved by them. Mom and Steve got to spend a while week alone with Cole. Since I worked all week and Frank was in and out of the firehouse, mom and Steve were on their own with the little guy. I really think they enjoyed that special time with him. Of course when they left I had to reaclamate Cole to his old routine...but it was all worth it to have grandma and grandpa around for a week! We miss them so much already and can't wait for them to come back.

And...the exciting news of the day...COLE ROLLED OVER!!! Yes, our little guy is not rolling which means we cant leave him to play on the bed when we take a shower, and really we can't leave him alone alywhere since he's roling all over the place! Here is a video of one of his first rolls!!

Snow Days

Over the past few weeks we have been able to enjoy 2 "not so snow" days! The joys of working in education! The 1st snow day we had was the friday of Martin Luther King weekend which meant I had a nice long 4 days weekend! When Frank got home from work that morning we decided to take a last minute road trip to Gatlinburg! We didnt think twice about calling our friends Bobby and Ashley since they are Gatlinburg experts and have been asking us to go with them for some time now. We really enjoy their company! So, we packed up the car and the baby and hit the road! We arrived at our hotel late friday night and had a great meal at a little Italian joint across the street. Then we took a drive up the mountain to see all the beautiful homes and the ski runs. Gatlinburg is such a cute tourist town! We absolutely have to go back again! We spent the following day sleeping in late, enjoying breakfast in bed, and doing some shopping at the outlets before heading home. Here is a picture of Cole and Peyton playing on the bed!

Cole has hit quite a few milestones lately. He is now eating rice cereal at night, picking his head up really well on his belly, and ALMOST sitting up by himself! He LOVES being in his excersaucer and sitting in hus bumbo seat! Here are a few new pictures...

This year we spent Christmas Eve with our good friends, who are also our neighbors, Wren and Travis and their sweet baby girl Olivia. Wren and I met at the pool this summer when we were both pregnant. We soon found out that we had alot in common down to the same stroller! I think the people in the neighborhood think we're a little wierd! We had a great time spending Christmas Eve with them along with some of their other friends! Here is a picture of Cole and Olivia playing together. Travis says this will be the last time Cole will lay on a blanket with Olivia! haha...

Christmas Day Cole and I headed down to the firehouse to have Christmas dinner with Daddy and the rest of the firemen! It ws honestly one of the best meals I've ever had! Those boys can cook! Here is a picture of Cole laughing and playing on daddy's bed at the firehouse!

The very next day Cole and I headed to the airport to spend an extended Christmas in Connecticut, Long Island, and Queens! We had so much fun visitng family! Cole and I were both spoiled to pieces while we were there. I am so blessed to have such a loving family. They certainly made Cole's first Christmas special! Here are some pics from our trip!

Since returning from our trip, life has been a little busy. I have gone back to work and Cole has been home with Frank most days. On the days Frank works, Cole gets to spend time with Aunt Lourie and Uncle Ken. We are so grateful for their friendship and for their help with Cole. It is so nice to know that if your child cant be with you, they are with people you trust, love, and care so much about. We know he is in a good Christian home where he is already learning and listening about Jesus and getting lots of lovin!

Lunch with Friends and House Work!

This week Kristin and I packed the boys up in the truck and headed to Murfreesboro to have lunch with our friend Beth from college! It was so great to see her and talk about old times! Our college days seem like just yesterday! It's hard to believe how fast the past 4 years have gone and how much our lives have changed. Here is a picture of us girls with the little guys!Cole and I have been packing up the house day by day while Frank is at work trying to get it ready to put on the market. We are hoping to list it by the 1st of the year and pray that the Lord will give us direction as to what is in store for our future. Selling the house will definately bring about alot of change with work for me, finances, and the amount of time i spend with my friends....but we are praying that God's plan for us will become more clear as we are obedient to him and to Frank's job. For those of you who don't know, Frank's contract with the fire department states that he must live within 10 miles of the city of Smyrna...Thompson's Station is way beyond 10 miles so that is why we have to sell. Tomorrow the house is being painted and then I can hang back up all my decorations and bring back in the furniture. We have done tons of updating and cleaning up around here and are hoping all our hard work will pay off.

Dinner With Friends and Baby Dedications!

Frank and I took Cole up to my school last week to visit my co-workers and show him off! Everyone loved him of course! It was really nice to see everyone and made me miss being there. I truly love my job and feel that it is 100% what the Lord has called me to do. It is so amazing to have a job that I love and know each day that I am touching the lives of children. It's even more amazing that the Lord has brought me to a job where I am surrounded by great Christian friends who we have truly enjoyed doing life with! After our visit at school we met some of my friends from work for dinner. We had some great southern cookin and much overdue conversation. Although I love my job as a counselor, I know it is going to be hard to go back to work in another few weeks. I love being home with Cole more than anything and will miss all the cute little noises and faces he makes. It is comforting that most of the week he will be home with Frank, but I am still going to have a hard time going back to work. Right now it is what we have to do financially, but we are praying that the Lord will continue to provide for us and that he will allow for me to be in the home in the future. He has given me an amazing gift with children, and I know that it is my first priority to serve my own.

This week we also had the privelidge to join some of our friends from church in dedicating their babies! Caden, Cohen, and Alyssa were all dedicted this week. The service was very sweet and the church catered a great dinner for all the families and their guests. Here are some shots of Cole and Caden riding Caden's fire truck before the dedication! Capurso's Visit

Last weekend we had Grandma and Grandpa Capurso and Aunty Autumn come visit! Cole of course stole all of their hearts! We had a really nice time with them doing some shopping in Franklin, eating out, and cooking in! Just in case some of you didnt know, my mother in law is by far one of he best cooks there is! On Sunday night she even cooked a delicious meal for us and our friends the Ferrel's! Our friend Ryan came over for some home cookin too! He would never pass up a Capurso dinner! I'm sure he's had many in his life growing up in Bristol. I wish i had pictures to post...but Frank's dad took all the good ones! He was like the papparazzi! Everytime we turned around he was snapping another picture! I guess you can't have enough pictures of Cole's sweet little face! As soon as Aunty Autumn send some my way I will post them!

We prayed long and hard for their visit and are so glad that they were able to make it down here to spend time with Cole. We love them dearly and Cole and I are excited to see them in a few weeks at Christmas!

2 Month Shots

Cole had his 2 month appointment at the doctor today. He now weighs 10lbs. 6oz. and is 22 inches long. He is on the smaller side of the curve but his growth from birth is right on target! We love our little peanut!

Today was also the first time Cole cried real tears! Of course mine came pouring down as well. Cole got 3 shots and an oral immunization. He was not a happy camper but over all handled it like a champ. He really only cried for a few second and then fell asleep. He's such a good baby!

Once more sleep until Grandma and Grandma Capurso and Aunty Autmn are here!

Unfortunately the circumstances were not the best, Frank's best friend Barry lost his father last week, so Frank hopped on the first flight he could to get home for Barry during the funeral. So, Saturday morning Frank left for work at the Fire house, with plans of flying home to Connecticut on Sunday morning. Since the flights were so expensive Cole and I were going to stay behind. Frank was so upset that he had to miss us for 3 days. So...that evening Cole and I had dinner at Aunt Kristin and Uncle Rob's house when they offered to give us one of their frequent flyer round trip tickets so we could suprise Frank and make the trip home with him! I have the best friends in the world!!!! It is so amazing how selfless our friends are and how they would go out of their way to do anything for us. Of course we would do the same for them too! So, thanks to Kristin and Rob, Cole and I headed to the Fire house Sunday morning! I knocked on the door and called Franks name a few times...he thought he was hearing things! He peeked out the bathroom door and saw me stading there, ready to go! He was so suprised and so happy! Since Grandma and Grandpa Capurso had not met Cole yet we decided to suprise them too! We had a great trip, minus the fact that it was for a funeral.

This week we went to Karen and baby Hailey's house for a walk in their neighborhood. Lindsey and baby Taylor joined us as well! We had a great time getting some fresh air and chatting up a storm! Here is a picture of Cole all bundled up on our walk and one of the 3 babes!

Last night we went with our Sunday school class for a much needed outing! We decided in honor of the season to go to the haunted corn maze! Well, is wasnt very haunted besides the scarey noises and flying corn, compliments of my husband! He's always gotta be the funny guy! Frank and I had a great time seeing everyone since we had'nt gotten together outside of church since the summer. Cole got to play in the car with Miss Lourie, Kennedy and Sydney while we walked the maze! He loves his girls!

Cole got invited to his first birthday party. Elise turns 1 this month and Cole had so much fun at her costume party! 2 Year Anniversary!

Thursday was our 2nd anniversary! It seems like just yesterday Frank and I were standing together at the altar saying our vows. The past 2 years have been full of great happiness, surprises, and growth. In just 2 years we got married, moved to Tennessee, started new careers, bought a house, had a baby, and became Christians! I think we need to slow down a bit!

We celebrated our special day by going to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, Stoney River. The food was delicious of course and we really enjoyed some great conversation and time alone while Aunt Kristin and Uncle Rob watched Cole. Thanks guys!

We have had tons of family in and out over the past 6 weeks coming to visit with us and spend time with Cole. This past week Dad and Robin came and filled us and Cole up with lots of love! We really enjoyed their visit and did tons of fun things! We ate out alot...walked around Franklin...had lunch with Kristin and Caden...visited friends...and I got to start back to the gym while they stayed home with Cole.

This weekend we had a full house on Iroquois Drive. Grandpa and Grandpa Brett along with Aunt Suzy, Aunt Nikki, Aunt Lauren, and Uncle Patrick came to visit! Cole was so excited to meet his Aunts and had such a great time with them. They spoiled him to peices with tons on hugs and kisses and he is definately missing them now that they've gone home to New York. Here is a picture of the family before church on Sunday.

Cole also got to meet his Uncle Barry. Barry is a childhood friend of Franks wh who was also in our wedding party. He and Frank have grown up together and Barry is just like a part of the Capurso family. We are so glad he got to come down and meet Cole and are hoping he'll come down and visit again real soon.

Of course we shed a few tears when we had to say goodbye to everyone on Monday...but we know we will be seeing them all again real soon!

Cole's Week of 1sts!

Today Cole had his 1st big boy bath in the tub! He loved it! As Frank says,"He is going to be the next Michael Phelps," with his big hands and feet and now a love for water!

Cole also had his 1st play date this week with his friends Grayson, Caden, and Elise. We went over th Gray's house and the babies played with all of Gray's cool toys! Cole just sat back and watched as the big kids played but in a few months Cole will be right there with them! Here is a picture of Cole in the car on our way to Grayson's house!

We are all looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa Brett's next visit on Wednesday! They are also bringing Aunt Lauren, Aunt Nicole, and Aunt Suzanne with them! Cole can't wait to meet his Aunts and spend time with Grandma and Grandma again! He is especially looking forward to nap time with Grandpa!

After the playdate we went over the Aunt Kristin's for a little while. Caden let Cole rumage through some of his old clothes and borrow a few things! I had to post a picture of Cole with Caden's bear hat on because he looked too cute!

And to add to Cole's list of firsts..He also went to his 1st Car Show!!! He was all ready to go with his classic car shirt..In case you can't see the writing it says, "chicks dig my ride." We had a great time looking at all the cars and i'm sure this was the first of many car shows Cole will attend if his daddy has anything to do with it!

Cole has been growing like a weed and is starting to look like a different baby! He is filling out in the face and is now into Newborn and 0-3 month clothes! He is almost ready for stage 1 diapers also! We can't believe how fast out little boy is growing!

This week Cole and I went to visit Daddy at the firehouse! Cole got to watch a movie with the guys and take a tour of all the cool places around the firehouse! I know Cole is going to love visiting Daddy at work as he gets older. All of the guys on Frank's shift have babies or small children at home...so we can't wait for holidays at the firehouse!

We have been taking tons of long walks through the neighborhood and getting lots of fresh air! The weather here is still very warm but the nights and early mornings are starting to feel more like fall!

2 Weeks Old!

Can you believe that Cole is 2 weeks old already! We are truly enjoying every moment with our little man, watching his funny faces, listening to his sweet little noises, and loving on him! He is such an amazing blessing!

We had our 2 week appointment with Dr. Collins this week to weigh Cole in. Not only was Cole back to his birth weight, but he hit it and passed it right by! He weighed in at 7lbs.!!!! He gained a whole lb. in one week! I guess we can say he's eating well! He is starting to fill out in the face and tummy a little more, and he is starting to fit into some newborn clothes. He is more alert and awake for an hour or so at a time now as well!

In 2 weeks we are expecting a visit from grandma and grandpa Capurso. Cole can't wait to meet them! He may even get to meet his Aunt Autumn too! Here are some pictures of the handsome little guy!

Cole's 1st Week

Yesterday we took Cole to his first Dr.'s appointment. We really like his pediatrician! He said Cole is a healthy little boy! His weight has not moved since we left the hospital which was great news! It made me feel so good to know thatnursing is working out. We will see the Dr. again in a week for a weight check..hopefully by then Cole will be back to his birth weight! Here are some pictures from the Dr.'s office...

Cole is such a good baby... right now all he does is sleep and eat. He is really easing me into being a Mommy. I was able to catch a few shots of him with his eyes open while he was playing (laying) on his play mat.

Since Frank's schedule at work enables him to be home for 2 days after every 24 hour shift he has been able to spend lots of time with us. Though, It has been hard for him to leave when he has to go to work. He is such a great husband and already an amazing dad. Cole is so lucky to have a Daddy who loves him and his mommy so much! We are truly blessed!

My parents have been here helping us all week and it has been so wonderful to have so much help. It has given me a chance to get lots of rest, showers, and time to straighten up since they are here to spend time with Cole. He loves for grandpa and grandma to hold him and he likes making funny faces when he hears their voices! I don't know what i'm going to do when they leave on Sunday.

Grandpa are Grandma Capurso will be coming soon to meet Cole and spend some time with us! We can't wait for their visit! After that, Bubs and Zaidy will be coming back for their second visit! They came down when Cole was born and just couldnt get enough of him! We are so blessed to have such a loving family who cares so much for us. We love them and miss them when they're not here.

Since Cole was smaller than we thought he'd be he has no clothes that fit him. So, my mom and I found some adorable little preemie outfits for him. Here is Cole in Camo! He's just as cute as his daddy in his military uniform!

It's hard to imagine that in just a few years they will be the same size and in the same grade at school. 6 years ago I would have never thought that Kristin and I would be raising sweet little boys together. Welcome Baby Cole!

Cole Anthony Capurso has made his debut! He is so perfect and absolutely beautiful! He weighs 6lbs 4 ounces and is 19 3/4 inches long! He is such a little peanut. We are just overwhlelmed with happiness and feel so blessed that God has given us this amazing gift.

I started having contractions around 8:00pm on Thursday night. We headed to the hospital around 11:00am Friday morning and Cole arrived 6:05pm. The labor and delivery went well and the doctor let Frank deliver the baby! It was absolutely amazing! We are still in hospital now enjoying our time with Cole!

37 Weeks

We saw the doctor today and got checked to see if I am dialated yet. I have to admit, I was a little bit sad that there is no action going on yet. Cole is still quite content. Hopefully by next week he will have started making his way!

36 Weeks

Today's doctor's appointment went well. I was hoping he was going to say I was getting close and could go into labor any minute...but I won't get checked until next week. :(

The doctor gave a good report and we are both doing well. The lord has taken such great care of us! Next week we'll see if I have dialated at all...and at 38 weeks he will do a procedure to speed labor along a bit. This is because he thinks Cole is going to be big! I mean look at my husband...the chances if a small baby are slim to none I suppose! So, hopefully Cole will make his appearance sometime within the next 3 weeks!

Well, we have about 5 weeks left until baby Cole makes his appearance! I can't believe how fast my pregnancy went! So far, I can honestly say it has been great! More days than not I have felt great and have been able to keep up with all of things we like to do. I am just praying that the worst is not yet to come! Kristin recently took a picture of me but until she sends it over I'll post one from a few weeks ago so you all can see my belly. Here is me and Caden ready to go to his Uncle Josh's birthday party!

This past week some of my friends at work threw me a shower! It was so nice to spend time with everyone after a long summer off and celebrate baby Cole. They gave us tons of beautiful gifts and we are just so grateful to have such amazing people in our life. I have never worked in a place where my co-workers were as loving and caring as the people I work with. I'm really going to miss everyone while I am home with Cole. Here is a picture of the adorable chair some of the girls at work got for Cole's nursery! It's the blue gingham chair with Cole's name embroidered on the back!! I can't wait until he can sit up tall in it and watch tv with his Daddy!

We will keep you updated after our next doctors apointment next week. After this next appointment i'll be seeing the doctor once a week until Cole's birth! Okay, so I know I have really slacked off on the blogging the last couple of weeks. Really I have spent most of my days at the pool trying to enjoy my last days of summer vacation! Now it's back to work for just a few weeks until Cole makes his arrival! I am soooo ready for him to be here!

Back in June I made a trip home to New York where my family and friends threw me a beautiful baby shower! They seriously over-did it New York style of course! Here are a few pictures from the day!

It was such a nice trip home. I got to spend alot of time with my family which of course makes me miss them so much more. I also got to spend alot of time with my girlfriends as well which was really nice! Thank you to everyone who made the day so special for me!

Then my Mom came back to Tennessee for a long realxing week! We layed by the pool with friends, ate good food (since she's a nazi at the grocery store) and did some shopping for the last of Cole's neccessities! It was so nice to have her here to help me with all the last minute details of his nursery and getting the house ready for his arrival. We even planted lots of pretty flowers in the front yard...which I have kept alive for a whole month!! I definately could not have done it alone! I have the best mom in the world!

Just to give you an update on Cole....

I went to the doctor yesterday for my 32 week appointment. Only 8 weeks to go!!! Cole's heartbeat is strong and he's very active! (all day long) Dr. Thomas seems to think that given Frank's size and both of our sizes ar birth, Cole may be a big baby! If that's the case he will hope I have him a bit early to make delivery easier. We'll just have to wait and see how he's growing at that point. I feel pretty good...just tired alot and kind of uncomfortable. I have such a supportive group of friends who have had babies in the past year. They make it so much easier for me to deal with all the uncomfort, questions, and worries. I am so blessed for their presence in my life right now.

Another update...

Frank has started a new career with the Smyrna Fire Department!! I am so proud of him for all of the hard work it took to get this job. For almost 4 months he was interviewing, testing, and waiting patiently for God to show him some direction with his career. His timing could not have been more perfect! Now we won't have to worry about the insecurity of his old job when Cole gets here. Currently he is training at the department for the next 6 weeks. He is enjoying every minute of it! Frank is such a service oriented guy and I know that God is going to use him in amazing ways through this job. It makes me so happy to know that he is enjoying what he does and that he is confident about providing for our family.

On the down side...he does have to go away to the Fire Academy sometime this year. It's definately going to be hard for both of us to be away from eachother and for Frank to be away from Cole for 10 weeks. We have been praying that the Lord will bring comfort to both of us and that he will bring clarity to the situation. We know his plans for our family are good and that he will watch over us and lead us in the right direction. Thank you to all of our friends and family who have been praying for s as well. It is amazing what prayer can do!

27 Weeks

Today we saw Dr. Thomas for our 27 week appointment. Since I've had some surgery in the past he wanted to check my cervix to make sure everything was normal. Frank jokes around and says,"Of course it won't be normal...when are you ever normal." Gotta love my husband! But by the grace of God, everything was perfect! All measurements were right on target and Cole's heartbeat was strong. It feels so good to know that Cole and I are in the Lords hands. I'll see the doc again in 2 weeks, right before I make a trip home to New York! I can't wait to go back home and see my family and friends and to hear that ocean breeze! I know it sounds funny, but I miss the smell of high tide in the morning...you know that raw egg, garbage smell that us Long Islanders are blessed with when the tide is high....yeppp, i love it!

Nursery Update...

Today we got a new gift for Cole's Nursery. Great Grandma Sarah sent us a beautiful glider and ottoman for all those late night feedings. It matches the nursery perfect and is super comfortable! I can forsee many nights alseep in this chair. Cole is becoming one spoiled little boy!

This past weekend we celebrated Frank's 30th Birthday with a huge surprise! Both of our families have been planning this for months and I don't know how but we kept it a secret! I have so many people to thank for making his birthday party a success...First of all, our families for coming all the way down the Tennesse to be with us and for all the help they gave me getting ready for the party. Then our amazing friends...Thanks to all the guys who kept Frank out of the house all day. Our friends Rob and Ken had been scheming this day up for a long while and I am so grateful for all their help. Then Rob and our friend Ryan came over with Frank's 2nd surprise...A Grill! They even carried it onto the porch for us! I couldnt have pulled any of this off it it wasn't for Lourie and the girls. They came over the house as soon as Frank left and cooked all the potatoes, waited for the deliveries, and kept me calm. Frank and I are so incredibly blessed to have all of these people in our life. We have learned so much from each one of them and truly enjoy going through life with them.

Then when I thought it couldn't get any better, our friends Krsitin and Rob threw an awesome baby shower for us and baby Cole. Kristin really out did herself with all of the delicious food, and we were so excited to have so many friends come to celebrate Cole. We had such a great time with everyone and we hope you all know how much we love and appreciate your friendship. Cole has been so spoiled already and he is so lucky to have so many little buddies who are waiting for his arrival. Last but certainly not least I really need to thank God for all that he has blessed and provided us with. He has truly shown us his power and grace in this past year and I am amazed every day when I see him working in our life.

24 Weeks...

Today we saw Dr. Thomas for our 24 week appointment. Everything looks great so far! Baby and I are doing really well and he feels confident that I will deliver a full term baby boy. At our next appointment in 3 weeks i will have a glucose test to check blood sugar levels as well as an ultrasound just to make sure everything looks good. Baby's heart beat was nice and strong today..about 140. The visit was pretty short so there is not much more to report but we will definately be able to post some more pictures of our little guy in a few weeks!

On the homefront everything is wonderful! Frank has been going through a long process of interviewing for the Fire Department and has made it to the final stages. He passed the gruling physical portion of the process and the written exam. So, we are just waiting to hear from the budget vote to se if he gets the job! We are praying for God's guidance and that he will show us what direction he wants Frank to go in as far as work is concerned. I am so lucky to have a husband who has such an amazing desire to provide for our family. We also feel incredibly blessed that we have such great friends who pray for us and serve as such great Christian examples.

This is also my last week of school with the kiddos. Then I have another 2 weeks of the boring part of my job...paper work. I am definately looking forward to enjoying the beautiful weather here in Tennessee and sleeping in late... since this will probably be the last summer I can sleep in late for the next 18 years! It has been in incredible year at work. I have learned so much and made some amazing friendships. It is so amazing to wake up every morning and go to a job that you love!

We also finished putting together the furniture in the nursery that my dad and Robin helped us purchase! The last time they came to visit we went to Once Upon A Child and they just loved the set we had picked out for their grandbaby. They have already spoiled him to pieces. He is so lucky to have gradparents that already love and care about him as much as they do! It looks so great! We also painted and redecorated the guest bathroom which is attached to the nursery. We will post pictures as soon as we get batteries for our camera. For those of you who don't know that our dog Beau has a stomach of steel and just loves to get into trouble....he recently ate an entire package of batteries along with a few magazines and some more of the living room carpet!! I don't know what to do with him!

Half Way There!

Today we had our 20 week appointment with the doctor. I can't believe we are halfway there! We had another ultrasound done and were able to say hello our little boy. He has grown so much in just the past 4 weeks! We could'nt believe our eyes! He is still very active and gave us another good look at his boy parts...Frank was excited to see with more clarity that he is definately having a son! He was kicking his legs and stretching out his arms...and even gave us a wave and a thumbs up! At one point he became less active and started to yawn! Then he took his arms and placed them behind his head, just as if he was lounging on the couch. It was so cute! The doctor says everything looks great. I am starting to feel him move a little...no kicks yet, but definate fluttering here and there.

We purchased bedding for the baby's crib and Frank is starting to fix up the nursery! It will be a combination of baby blue and brown poka-dots and stripes! Once it's done we will post pictures! Thanks for checking in on us!

Boy or Girl???

As many of you know, up until now Frank did not want to know the sex of the baby... Although, I knew he would fold under pressure when the time came! And....he did! We had a very fun trip to the doctor this week where we were able to have another ultrasound (by accident- but I am not going to complain). The technician looked up at me and said, "If I can tell the sex of the baby do you want to know?" At that point we could tell that she knew what it was!! So, I turned to Frank and asked him what he wanted to do. At first he just kept saying it's up to you...but finally he said the words..."Alright, what is it???" So the technician turned the screen towards us and said...."It's a boy!!!" Fortunately, we got to find out at only 16 weeks! Our little man was sitting indian style and gave us clear view of his parts! Frank could not be happier that he is going to have a son and of course I am ecstatic! He was moving around so much, flipping from front to back, and kicking and moving his little arms and legs! I can't believe that I don't feel him moving, but i'm sure in just a few weeks I'll be able to. It was so fun to call all of our family and friends and tell them the news. This whole experience has been such a blessing, and it has been just amazing to feel God's hands on Frank and I as we experience this together. We are so grateful to have such a great group of friends that for many, are experiencing this miracle along with us. It's so nice to have other people to talk to, ask questions, and comfort your worries and insecurities about pregnancy, delivery, and raising children to know and love God.

We had the baby's furniture delivered this past weekend and are going to start painting the nursery very soon! We are thinking of doing a Brown and Baby Blue color scheme and I promise to post pictures as soon as it's done! I know you are all dying to see pictures of my belly back home in New York, so I promise I will have Frank take some pictures by the next post!

12 Weeks

I am blogging this a little late since this past week has been a nightmare! I'll start off with the good news...

Last week we had our 12 week appointment at the doctor. I weighed myself when I walked in, which you do at every appointment, and I was excited to see that I had gained 2 lbs! With all of the nausea and throwing up, at least I know I'm doing something right! In the exam room, the nurse walked over with a portable ultrasound looking device that had a little speaker on it. She rubbed the ultrasound on my belly and then stopped right under my belly button. "Do you hear that," she asked. Frank and I listened closely as we heard the pitter patter of our baby's heart beat for the first time. It was amazing! The heart beat was strong and we couldn't have been more excited! Then Doctor Thomas brought us into the ultrasound room so we could see another picture of our little angel. Frank and I were expecting to see the same little jellybean that we saw at our 8 week appointment. Not even close!! That little jellybean is now starting to look like a baby! We saw the head, midsection, and the cutest little legs and arms moving around like crazy!! Frank's comment was, "restless...just like it's mommy." This is true! We both got so excited when we saw how much the baby had grown. Frank even broke down and said he wants to know what the sex is!!! Up until now he was completely against finding out! But, he's starting to change his mind with all the excitement! If we decide to find out the sex, we will do so at our next appointment in 4 weeks! Many people have asked if I have a feeling as to what the sex of the baby is....and honestly, I don't. Someday's I think it's a boy, and other I think it's a girl. My mom says she KNOWS it's a boy. We'll see if she's right!

I am starting to get a little baby bump, and I am no longer fitting into any of my old clothes. When my mom was here visting a few weeks ago she took me shopping for maternity clothes. I think I am in denial about how much my belly will grow. It was such a blessing to have my mom here to share this special time with me. I definately needed her to help me at the store and make me feel that I was beautiful even if my body is changing. It's been hard for me since I have always been very athletic. Frank has also been extremely supportive and tells me daily how beautiful it is that my body is changing with the baby. I definately need his reasurance right now.

Okay, now for the worst part of the week. The day after our doctor's appointment I woke up feeling under the weather. As I opened my eyes and looked out the bedroom window, I was pleasantly suprised to see snow! I ran to the computer to see if we had school; CANCELED! God knew I needed the rest! I spent the entire day in bed trying to recooperate. The next day I went back to work with hopes that I was better...but, to my dismay I was sick as a dog! I made it through the day and went straight to the doctor on my way home. The doctor said I had a sinus infection, double ear infection, and what seemed the be the flu. I knew it was bad! I spent the next 4 days in bed and back and forth to the doctor. Just when I thought things couldn't get worse my asthma started acting up. Not being able to breath through your nose or your mouth is not fun! This was the most sick I have ever been! I was really scared that the medicine would hurt the baby, but the doctors insisted that it wouldn't. With their advice, I got lots of rest, took the meds, and tried the get better fast. I feel a million times better now, but am still fighting a cough and some asthma. On the bright side, I am no longer nauseas from the pregnancy. What a praise!

We're Pregnant!

To all our friends and family,

We have decided to create a blog so you can all be a part of our first pregnancy! I will try to post pictures and all of the fun and exciting details of the next few months!

We had our first doctors appointment on Monday, January 28th. We had an ultrasound done and got to see our little bundle of joy for the first time! It was the most amazing experience to see our baby's heartbeat. The doctor thinks that we are about 8 weeks along and the baby will be born on or around September 13th! I can't begin to explain to you how excited we are to become parents and to bring a new life into the world. We are so grateful for all of God's blessings in our life. Please pray for us and the baby as he or she grows and develops over the months ahead.
